The University campus is over 1,600 acres and has over 32,000 students, 13,000 staff and faculty, and thousands of visitors to their 3 major hospitals, sports stadiums and arenas, sports arena, and cultural venues. The campus maintains its own security staff, and their CCTV system must support its acreage and outlying locations.

Safety of students and faculty is a priority for the institution. With the potential of unlawful conduct on campus, the security staff can’t be everywhere. DSI has helped to implement an Avigilon Enterprise Camera system on the vast campus. We were approached to find a solution to cover university parking lots. These lots don’t all have networking and power available to power a camera. DSI was able to design a solar array set up with wireless capabilities. These outlying cameras wirelessly communicate with the Avigilon servers and are powered by solar. With this integration, CCTV has become a staple on campus. Incidents footage is available and can be pulled off a server quickly if a situation calls for it.
