Many Frito Lay sites have automation within them. Robots that palletize and move product. With these systems, people were watching them to make sure there was no error, defeating the purpose of the robot and saving employment cost. With the implementation of an Enterprise CCTV solution to watch these cameras, we were able to cut employment cost for the sites. The Avigilon CCTV access system is accessible from anywhere with the correct networking. DSI has given remote access by corporate to the outlying sites for monitoring.
The FDA has strict guidelines on food production. Frito lay takes pride in their product, its ingredients, and the process to a finished product. Implementing the CCTV system throughout the production plants assist with quality control and inventory control within the plants.
A Frito lay plant employs anywhere from 50-300 employees on any given day. Tracking these employee whereabouts is essential to safety and security on site. With the Avigilon Enterprise CCTV system and Access Control system integration that DSI has implemented, we are able to do that. Card readers are installed on key entrances so that only authorized people are entering certain areas. CCTV is implemented throughout the production lines, warehouse, sanitation, labs, and offices to view areas where people should or should not be.
DSI has provided a seamless integration between the 2 systems that benefit that site in many ways. Quality control can be monitored, employee access is monitored, and safety concerns are easily identified and addressed.
